Bollywood Bores, Little Zizou Scores!

March 25th, 2009

Little Zizou Bollywood must have lost more in one week, than Britain did when Hitler bombed the city for more than 50 days. All five films which were released in Bollywood last week bombed miserably. Trade experts claim that the way the films went for the last three days since Saturday, there isn’t much hope for a revival during the rest of the week.

The films Firaaq directed by debutante Nandita Das, Aloo Chaat starring Aftab Shivdasani, Straight a sex comedy starring Vinay Pathak and Gul Panag, Lottery starring the first Indian idol winner and Barah Anna directed by Rajah Menon all show similar signs of a mauling at the box office. The only ray of hope was Little Zizou, which quite literally in footballing parlance, pipped the other, reasonably mainstream giants to the post.
Experts say March is not such a great month when it comes to movie releases because of the exams are held around then… but Little Zizou did succeed where the others miserably failed didn’t it?
